Deputy Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, Ruslan Prykhodko, during a working visit to Warsaw, met with the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology of the Republic of Poland, Michał Jaros.
The meeting took place at the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology in Warsaw with the participation of Mykola Hranovskyi, First Secretary of the Embassy of Ukraine in the Republic of Poland, and Taras Hren, Chief of Staff of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
The focus of the parties was the further implementation of the Ukrainian-Polish project “Oasis of Revival” (Oaza Vidrodzhennia), aimed at developing palliative support for Ukrainian veterans. The initiative is intended to become an example of practical partnership between Ukraine and Poland in the field of veteran policy, recovery, and care for Defenders who require specialized assistance.
The parties discussed the current state of the project’s preparation, procedural issues, legal mechanisms for cooperation, possible formats for signing agreements, as well as the coordination of interaction between Ukrainian and Polish institutions.
The delegations agreed to explore the possibility of signing a document to solidify further cooperation between Ukraine and Poland within the framework of this project during the International Ukraine Recovery Conference. Importantly, this year, the Republic of Poland has allocated approximately 60 million euros for Ukraine. A portion of this financial assistance is to be directed toward supporting projects related to veteran policy, medical technologies, rehabilitation, and recovery.
The significant role of the Minister of Finance and Economy of the Republic of Poland, Andrzej Domański, was separately highlighted, as his support was crucial in advancing the project and bringing it closer to the stage of practical implementation.
As early as this year, the Polish side plans to complete the necessary formalities, secure financing, and hold a competition, with the aim of launching the project’s implementation next year.
Ruslan Prykhodko thanked the Polish side for its consistent support of Ukraine and its readiness to move from agreements to practical solutions. He expressed special gratitude to Michał Jaros for his openness to dialogue, constructive position, and active involvement in the preparation process of this project.
The Chief of Staff of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Taras Hren, confirmed readiness to continue facilitating the implementation of the agreements and providing support across all areas.
Ruslan Prykhodko emphasized that it is vital for Ukraine to develop partnerships that yield concrete, practical results for both male and female veterans.
“We highly value the support of our Polish partners. It is important to us that the ‘Oasis of Revival’ project is moving forward not merely as an idea, but as a concrete joint effort that must deliver results for Ukrainian veterans. The ‘Oasis of Revival’ project is not only about international cooperation, but above all about supporting the people who, after defending Ukraine, need high-quality care, recovery, and dignified accompaniment,” noted Deputy Minister Ruslan Prykhodko.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to accelerate work on finalizing procedural issues and preparing the documents necessary to launch the project.
Ukraine and Poland remain reliable partners, including in the support of Ukrainian veterans. Such joint initiatives are yet another step toward creating an effective assistance system that accounts for the needs of Defenders and works toward their recovery.
